I Want Adventure In The Great Wide Somewhere

Adventure tugs on the strings of our soul (not the surface strings, but the strings that are hidden deep within our very essence) - urging, begging us to listen to it. It stokes the fires of dreams, desires, passions, and curiosities. It begs us to take wing and fly to the highest heights. It causes us to become restless, curious, and perhaps, if we are completely honest with ourselves, even a wee bit reckless...

However, the anchors of reality and responsibility also have a very tight hold on us, and sometimes it feels like their only purpose is to slam us back down to the cold hard ground. We feel the weight of them growing always heavier, dragging us downwards until we feel like it's trying to crush our wings, and yet, even under all the weight, our hearts still long to soar high above the clouds always searching for that same life giving spark we once experienced when adventure first gave us our wings. While reality is important to keep us somewhat grounded, we have to be so careful that we don't allow it to completly clip our wings.

You see, adventure was placed within us for a reason. Each of us has been given a unique adventure - stories, passions, dreams, talents, and desires - for a God given purpose that He wants us to carry out. We have been designed by an Almighty God who already intimately knows all of us - our strengths, weaknesses, doubts, talents, dreams, fears, hopes, desires - He created us( knowing all of that) to be in this world right now. Take a moment to think about that. In all of created time and history He has chosen us, you and I, to be here, now.

Hold onto that sense of adventure and keep flying no matter how hard the anchor of reality tries to pull you down. Adventure lives within you, no matter where reality leads you day to day. All we have to do is spread our wings. You will be surprised just how far and high you have been created to fly.

I cannot wait to see what today's adventure may be...I may not know exactly where my path will lead me, but one thing I do know for sure - It's going to be a wild ride.

After months of contemplation, I have finally decided to take the plunge and begin my very own blog! Creating a new blog has proven of itself to be an incredible adventure! I Am Thankful.

Wow, how does one put everything they are grateful for into words... I guess to sum up as best I know how I would have to say I am beyond thankful for this wild and wacky adventure called life. I'm thankful for those who share in the journey alongside me, for those who have played their part in my story and moved on their own way, for those who have yet to enter my story and change the world as I know it. My family and dearest friends always beside me. I'm thankful for the good times that are forever mine to cherish, and the tough times that always have a lesson to teach and grow me. I'm thankful for eyes to see the beauty of the world around me, ears to hear the sweetest sounds, feet to take me to places I've never been before or to lead me back home again, hands to hold up those around me who are too tired to carry on alone, a tongue to taste the richness the world has to offer, and a heart to feel every emotion to its fullest. A Covid-19 World

Closed indefinitely. Social distancing. No toilet paper. Sold out. No mask no service. Sanitize everything. Stay home. Wash your hands for twenty seconds. Stay six feet apart.  We are living in a world we never dreamed we would see. We see grief. Grief over loss of normalcy. Grief over the loss of loved ones. Grief over the loss of jobs. Grief over lost opportunities. Grief over being isolated from loved ones. Grief for plans being ruined. Grief is raw. Grief is hard to bare. It gives us a glimpse into the depths of the soul, and shouldn't be rejected, but rather rejoiced in as odd as that may sound. We shouldn't rejoice in the cause of the grief, but grief itself is a powerful thing. It allows us to perceive truth and beauty in ways we may have never seen it before.  We see everyone moving about day by day wondering when and if this will ever end.   We see the best in people come out.
